Siwoo Kim is a New York violinist from Columbus, Ohio, where he is co-founding artistic director of the VIVO Music Festival. He made his Carnegie Hall concerto debut with the Juilliard Orchestra, trained at Juilliard with Robert Mann and Donald Weilerstein, and is an alumnus of Ensemble Connect and Marlboro. He has recorded Samuel Adler’s Violin Concerto for Linn Records.

Founded in 2015 with his friend and colleague, violist John Stulz, VIVO brings musicians from across the country home to Columbus each year. They rehearse in an assisted-living community with the residents listening in, play Beethoven for brewery crowds, and once gave Haas’s hour-long quartet from memory, in complete darkness.
